Open Day Boy Scouts Suriname

30 July 2017

In context of the Boy Scouts open day and at the request of the Boy Scouts, the REDD+ program in cooperation with NIMOS, SBB and Suricorps facilitated activities at the expo round. There was a games round and a mini conference with the theme “ Participation and Sustainable Development”. One of the activities was to answer a discussion question. The youngsters had to indicate in what way they can contribute to combating climate change. After discussing in groups each group had to present the results. The results will be shared with REDD+ NIMOS. The ultimate goal of this mini workshop was that the recommendations put forward by the scouts were included and implemented in their scouting program. They will have to actually bring their recommendations into concrete forms of action, said Mr Koster of the Boy Scouts.
