Awareness activity around World Forest day and World Water Day

On Wednesday 21 March 2018 the NIMOS / REDD + organized in collaboration with DP World at Peperpot Nature Park an activity for children of two GLO (Primary Education) schools around World Forest Day (21 March) and World Water Day (22 March). ). 51 pupils from the 5th grade of the Lobato school (Paramaribo) and O.S. 51 pupils of Meerzorg 4 school (Commewijne) participated. Presentations were held and videos shown about the importance of forests, water, environmentally friendly goods transport and energy alternatives. In addition, there the history of Peperpot was told about and there was a treasure hunt organized in the park. After the conclusion of the presentations and the search in Peperpot, Neem trees were planted on O.S. Meerzorg 4.
