Suriname is engaged into a national REDD+ readiness process. It aims at getting ready to possibly enter a future international REDD+ mechanism that would compensate financially for national efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation.

invites applications from a qualified consortium of experts for the following consultancy (click here for the RFP) 

Development of a REDD+ Safeguards Information System for Suriname

Social and environmental safeguards are supposed to ensure that REDD+ actions deliver multiple benefits for people and nature, by mitigating potential risks and enhancing benefits when implementing REDD+. A Safeguards Information System is needed to monitor how well the safeguards are addressed and respected. The system will be set up in close collaboration with the REDD+ Suriname Project Management Unit and in consultation with national stakeholders.

 

How to apply

Complete proposals including motivation letter and curriculum vitae of all proposed team members should be sent by e-mail to office.redd@nimos.org. The deadline has been extended to 2 May, 2018 at midnight Suriname time.

The subject title of the e-mail should read ‘Proposal: Development of a REDD+ Safeguards Information System for Suriname’

 

Consultancy teams who submitted their proposals before the previous deadline will still be considered and do not need to submit again.
