Suriname is engaged into a national REDD+ readiness process. The country aims at getting ready to use the international REDD+ mechanism as a tool for sustainable development, combining social and economic prosperity with keeping a high percentage of forest cover and limiting deforestation in Suriname. The National Institute for Environment and Development in Suriname (NIMOS), on behalf of the Government of Suriname, is the National Technical Focal Point of the Suriname REDD+ Project.

How to submit a project proposal

Completed project proposal templates and required documents should be sent by e-mail to, latest by July 31, 2019 at 16.00 hour. The subject title of the e-mail should read: “REDD+ Project Proposal”.
